Watch out He Bites!

Yeah he looks sweet, but the boy has started biting. And. it. hurts.

What should I do with a Bear that bites? I'm not quite sure that I'm ready to bottle feed exclusively. I mean, this might be my only bear. What to do, what to do...

I nursed Luke (now age 9) until his first birthday, and I remember quite well when he went through his biting phase. He eventually outgrew it, and I am sure that your little Harrison will too. Hang in there!

oh i'm so sorry...this is such a tough phase. i agree with april, though; it will pass, and it's definitely worth sticking it out. lots of people will suggest things to you, and you'll have to pick what you feel is right for harrison, but i finally decided i needed to a) get it across to griffin that biting was not ok or b) lose a nipple. so, when he bit me, i would express my surprise and displeasure [which is all i did for a while, which didn't end up working by itself] and proceed to cut off the feeding by setting him down. of course, he would cry and protest, and i would fairly quickly respond and continue the feeding, which might be one of the most terrifying things ever after being bit. i would say i did that 2 or 3 times, and he never bit me again. i hope you find something that works for you guys! maybe this will help. good luck!

Thanks ladies. When I was feeding him tonight I realized I was sweating and had my pinky at the ready to break his latch if he tried a swift bite. It doesn't make for a relaxing mom and baby time!
